The Aeroclub Volovelistico del Mugello was founded in 1990 by a small group of glider pilots willing to have a flying base near home in a potentially very interesting gliding area. It's located on the "La Collina" airfield, close to the village of Borgo San Lorenzo, north of the city of Firenze. The 750x50m grass runway is served by a 600 sq.m. hangar which houses the club's fleet and some privately owned gliders.
