Register a .aero domain name

Only members of the civil aviation community, incorporating airlines, airports, companies, organizations, associations, government agencies and qualified individuals, may register a domain name in .aero.

For the avoidance of doubt, the .aero Top-Level Domain (TLD) is for use by organisations involved and primarily supporting the civil aviation industry. Companies or organisations wishing to register a TLD with .aero must be able to demonstrate that they are exclusively or substantially focused on and/or active in the civil aviation industry. The Registry operator will decide whether an applicant meets these requirements.

The Registry Operator reserves the right:

  • to not register,
  • to suspend,
  • to delete or
  • to withdraw

any domain registration it deems offensive, illegal or that does not comply with SITA’s policies which are subject to change from time to time.

Before you register a domain name, you should:

  1. Check your eligibility to register a .aero domain name and the format in which you can register your chosen domain name
    here.
  2. Verify if your chosen domain name is available by using the "Check name" box at the upper right-hand corner of this page.
  3. Obtain your Membership ID, prior to registration of your chosen domain name through a .aero authorised registrar, this unique validity process screens potential domain registrants thus ensuring the integrity and the exclusivity of the .aero domain.

Special Note

Every registrant needs to obtain a Membership ID in order to be able to register .aero domains. Your Membership ID is the unique validity process, which screens potential domain registrants thus ensuring the integrity and the exclusivity of the .aero domain.
