.aero domain registrars can offer to their .aero customers a one stop shop for registration of .aero domain names.

On October 7, 2006 .aero the top level domain of aviation, will launch a new one step registration process for .aero domain names.

Following successful transition of registry services to Afilias, the new registry operator for .aero, a number of enhancements have been made to the name registration process, which includes a reduction in registration fees.

The .aero registry now operates on the world-standard Extensible Provisioning Protocol (EPP). The upgrade allows increased flexibility, standardization, and access to a broader distribution channel of ICANN-accredited registrars. In turn, this has lead to a reduction in the price of domain name registrations.

Following the recent recommendation of the Dot Aero Council (DAC), SITA has reserved names of states, provinces and geographical areas removing the option of permitting reservation of a domain name matching the name of a state, province or geographical area in the .aero domain.

These new reserved names join the existing reservation of country names.

Names that were already registered at the time of  this new policy will become automatically reserved, once not renewed or deleted by the current registrant.
