One of the primary functions of the Registrar Relations Website is enabling Registrars to communicate with the Registry Operator and/or Afilias. This is achieved by providing web-based forms that visitors can complete and submit.
The following forms may be activated:
Once deleted, the domain name becomes available to all eligible registrants, as specified by the current Domain Management Policy. If a domain is deleted and re-registered by a third party, the original registrant's web, e-mail and other Internet services will, in the best circumstances, simply stop working.
At the time that a registrant submits a request for a .aero domain via the pending create process, a fee of US$30 is charged. The following scenarios indicate the fee structure:
a. If the pending create request is approved by SITA and the domain is not deleted within the 5-day grace period, a fee of US$30 per domain year is charged.
Renewals can be made for one-year periods up to ten years in advance.
Certain domains are reserved. This includes one and two character domain names. The list
of reserved domain names and further information is available on the .aero website -
http://www.information.aero/registration/policies/reserved_names.
Some names, such as industry two character identifiers, are available for registration to industry code holders.
The registrar is responsible for developing the client application that will interface with the registry using the EPP protocol. The .aero registrar toolkit (RTK) is available to any interested party that would like to develop registrar client applications. A registrar may opt to develop their application to conform to the EPP specification without the use of the RTK. This is acceptable as long as the client is able to pass the OT&E certification process.
