The RTK will be provided to existing registrars on 18 January 2006. The Registrar Tool Kit is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License.

Where do I get my Membership ID from?

Membership ID can be only issued by SITA and you can request it either through your selected registrar, a list of them is here or directly through SITA here.

Where is the registrar Web-based admin tool located?

The registrar Web-based admin tool is located at https://admin.aeroregistry.net. This is the Web-based client and registrar administration tool for use by accredited registrars.  Please note that this tool will be available for registrars as of 15 February, 2006.

Which cipher suites are accepted?

To establish an SSL connection to the SRS, the registrar's client system must choose a cipher suite supported by the SRS. The SRS supports the following ciphers:

• SSL_DHE_DSS_EXPORT_WITH_DES40_CBC_SHA

• SSL_DHE_DSS_WITH_DES_CBC_SHA

• SSL_DHE_DSS_WITH_3DES_EDE_CBC_SHA

• SSL_RSA_WITH_DES_CBC_SHA

• SSL_RSA_EXPORT_WITH_DES40_CBC_SHA

Which SSL toolkit should I use?

Registrars are responsible for obtaining an SSL toolkit that is compatible with the development language and platform of their client system. The minimum requirement is that it must support SSL version 3.

For C, C++ or Perl, OpenSSL is an open-source SSL solution.

For Java:

• Sun's Java Secure Socket Extension.

• SSLava from Phaos Technology. SSLava also is the toolkit used in the development of the SRS.

While applying for an Aviation Community Membership ID, will the registrant be allowed to associate their Aviation Community Membership ID with multiple registrant classes?

Yes, registrants will be allowed the ability to associate their Aviation Community Membership ID to multiple registrant classes, with subject to SITA's approval e.g. if approved by SITA, a registrant will be allowed to register both airline.aero and airport.aero domain names with the same Membership ID)

Who can change my DNS information?

Registrars execute changes to your DNS information. The change procedure varies according to registrar. Please refer to your registrar's web site for further details or contact them directly.

Who can view my Membership ID?

Only SITA, yourselves and third parties with whom you share the password relating to this ID can view the contents of the ID, either via the web interface on this web site or, for registrars, directly in the registry database. Registrars may for example copy your Membership ID contact to pre-fill your normal registrant contact data.
