Before you can start registering .aero domains, you must complete the authorization process. This section explains on how parties interested in becoming a .aero registrar can obtain authorisation and start operation with the production environment of the .aero registry.
Before you can proceed with the process, you must obtan your accreditation by Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
To obtain .aero authorization and access to registry system, Registrars should take following steps:
In Step One, you are required to review the legal documentation related to the .aero TLD, and send the Application Documents to SITA, the Sponsor of .aero.
Step 2 - Business and Legal Process
In Step Two, you are required to complete the business and legal requirements to establish your account with Afilias, the .aero Registry Operator. Step Two can be performed in parallel with Step 3.
In Step Three, Technical Process, you are required to develop the client application that will interface to the Afilias Shared Registration System. The Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E)
environment is available for you to test your client system.
